I can certainly see how a traffic controller of the air is the most stressful job in the world, but there is no means of employment would be even possible without the complex communication system, we must use.
With a less advanced system of communication, life would be different for people in the world, but life is also different for countries and international relations. Imagine trying to keep peace with countries overseas through the exchange of letters? Decades pass before any significant amount of communication could take place. The chances are high that we would have much less to enjoy privileges to visit or move to other countries without a communication system as big as what our world is in place.
